THE QUESTION BEHIND THIS EPISODE

What makes your intelligence distinctly human?

In Lisette’s perspective, your human edge includes the capacity to notice subtle signals, recognise patterns and investigate what is happening beneath the surface. Developing that capacity means learning to separate an observation from the story you attach to it. It asks for curiosity, calibration and the willingness to test an impression before acting on it. In this episode, she explores how Perceptive Intelligence™ can work alongside your knowledge, experience, rational judgement and the technology you use. The invitation is to bring more of your own perception into the way you live, work and lead.

“A strong feeling is not the same as clear perception.”Lisette Lucas · episode 167

What you’ll take with you

  • A question to bring to your use of AI: how are you developing the human being alongside it?
  • A distinction between a signal you register and an interpretation you add.
  • A way to turn an impression into a better question before making a decision.
  • The LATENT / TALENT metaphor for an ability you can consciously develop.
  • A starting point for reflecting on your own signal through The Signal Audit.

INSIDE THE EPISODE

Five moments to explore.

01

The question AI brings into focus

As technology takes on more analytical work, Lisette asks what we are developing in the human being working alongside it. A conversation she heard with Ray Dalio becomes the starting point for her own perspective.

02

A signal is not the same as a story

You may notice an unspoken tension or register an impression before you can explain it. The work is to distinguish what you noticed from the expectations, fears and interpretations you add.

03

The Perceptive Revolution

Lisette introduces her vision of developing human perception alongside technology: noticing more, asking better questions and using rational judgement to investigate what deserves attention.

04

From latent ability to trained talent

LATENT and TALENT share the same letters. For Lisette, this is a metaphor for an ability that may already be present and can be explored, refined and calibrated through practice.

05

Start with your own signal

The Signal Audit invites reflection on how you perceive, interpret and decide. It is a starting point for inquiry, not a test that determines what is true or measures your perceptive ability.

TAKE THIS INTO YOUR DAY

Pause with these questions.

  1. What have I noticed recently, before I tried to explain it away?
  2. Which part was my observation, and which part was the meaning I added?
  3. What could I ask or test before acting on that impression?

You have everything in place. And yet you trust yourself less than you used to.

Not because you don’t know… but because you’ve started leading from what works instead of what’s true.

Welcome. This is where that ends.

I’m Lisette Lucas, High-End Success Medium. I work with leaders who have everything… except themselves.

Leaders who feel: what got me here no longer matches who I’ve become.

Not because you’re doing something wrong. But because your inner perception has expanded… and you’re not fully leading from it yet.

And that’s exactly why it feels off.

This isn’t about more strategy. This is about access.

To your perception. To your inner authority. To your Inner-Medium… as your most powerful leadership instrument and your most defining business asset.

This is where you stop adjusting… and start leading from what you’ve known all along.

If you feel this is for you… then you’re exactly where you need to be.

Hi, and welcome to episode 167 of the Lisette Lucas international podcast! The Perceptive Revolution: The Next Cutting Edge Is Human

This episode is the English version of the Dutch podcast 294.

Today, I want to share something that has absolutely fascinated me over the past few days.

And honestly... when I heard it, I thought:

WOW.

Do we realise just how big this is?

I was listening to a conversation between Ray Dalio and Steven Bartlett on The Diary of a CEO.

Ray Dalio is one of the world’s best-known investors. They were discussing AI, the changes we’re experiencing, and a question I believe every entrepreneur, expert and leader should be asking.

Because look at what has happened throughout history.

The Industrial Revolution took over more and more of our physical work.

Machines began doing jobs that previously required our bodies.

And now we’re in the middle of another revolution.

The AI revolution.

Technology is taking on more of our mental work: analysing information, developing strategies, organising ideas and exploring possibilities.

And that raises a fascinating question...

What will be left to set us apart as humans?

Ray talks about emotions. Intuition. Human intelligence.

And then he says something that really catches my attention.

He talks about people who combine exceptional human intelligence with artificial intelligence.

And the words he uses?

CUTTING EDGE.

And I thought...

Oh my goodness. This is it.

This connects so deeply with the work I’ve been doing for years. With what I’ve studied, explored, developed and trained.

And with what I believe could become a defining part of the future of leadership.

Because what if we’ve spent all these years developing only part of our intelligence?

Our knowledge. Our analytical thinking. Our ability to build a strategy.

All incredibly valuable.

I’m certainly not against technology or rational thinking. Quite the opposite!

But here’s the question...

How much have we invested in developing our deepest human capacity to perceive?

That ability to walk into a room and immediately notice that something is happening.

To sit opposite someone who is saying all the right things... while you’re picking up on something else.

To consider a collaboration that looks fantastic on paper, yet notice something you can’t quite put into words.

You hear what isn’t being said. You recognise a pattern. You register something before you fully understand it.

And what fascinates me is how many intelligent people use this ability every day without consciously recognising what they’re noticing.

Then their analytical mind takes over.

They explain. They question. They look for reasons to dismiss it.

And before they know it...

They’ve registered the signal... and then talked themselves out of it.

Not because they aren’t intelligent enough.

But because we’ve learned to give so much weight to what we can immediately see, measure and explain.

Meanwhile, another layer of perception may be waiting to be explored.

And that’s where, for me, Perceptive Intelligence begins.

Now, I want to be very clear.

I’m not teaching you to blindly follow every feeling.

A strong feeling is not the same as clear perception.

That distinction matters.

You can notice something and then build an entire story around it, shaped by your experiences, expectations, fears or conditioning.

So the question isn’t simply:

What do I feel?

It’s:

What am I actually perceiving?

What meaning am I adding?

What comes from me, and what might I be picking up from someone else?

What is signal? What is noise?

And what can I test before I act?

That is mastery.

Not less thinking.

More perception.

And this brings me back to the enormous shift we’re living through.

Because I believe we’re at the beginning of another revolution.

Not only a technological one.

A human one.

I call it...

THE PERCEPTIVE REVOLUTION.

A revolution in our deepest human perception.

The Industrial Revolution changed how we worked physically.

The AI revolution is changing how we think and work.

But what if the next great development is about how far we can develop our own human perception?

And my answer to what could make us truly distinctive?

YOUR ENERGY.

Your unique presence.

Your natural capacity to perceive.

Your ability to notice subtle signals and underlying dynamics, to distinguish your impressions from your interpretations, and to recognise what deserves your attention as a leader.

That’s where I see an extraordinary human edge.

Not because AI has no perceptive capabilities.

Not because our intellect stops mattering.

But because I believe we’ve barely begun to explore the full potential of our own perception.

I work with people who have already built a great deal.

Entrepreneurs. Experts. Leaders.

People who carry responsibility. Who know a lot, do a lot, and often perceive a great deal too.

But they may never have consciously trained that last ability.

What becomes possible when they do?

When they learn to read a room without losing themselves in it?

When they notice what isn’t being said without automatically treating their first interpretation as the truth?

When they investigate a signal and turn it into a better question, a more considered decision or a clearer conversation?

For me, that’s the essence of your Inner-Medium.

Your natural instrument of perception.

And I deliberately use the word reactivate.

Because I don’t believe I need to give you something you don’t have.

I believe we can begin by exploring what may already be there.

And then train it.

Refine it.

Calibrate it.

Master it.

Because having a talent is one thing.

Developing it into a professional instrument you can use responsibly is something else entirely.

And something rather lovely struck me recently.

I was looking at the word LATENT.

And suddenly, I saw...

TALENT.

The same letters. Arranged differently.

And I thought: what a beautiful metaphor.

What if one of your most valuable talents is an ability that has been lying latent within you all these years?

What if, instead of leaving it to chance, you consciously develop it?

That’s the invitation behind my work:

Develop your Inner-Medium into your most powerful leadership instrument and your most valuable business asset.

Think about what that could mean for the decisions you make, the clients you support, the people you lead and the business you build.

Not because you suddenly know everything.

But because you bring more of what you perceive into the picture, while continuing to use your knowledge, experience and rational judgement.

Your intellect doesn’t have to step aside. But it doesn’t have to be the only one at the table.

And that’s what makes this moment so fascinating to me.

We’re investing in AI, automation and increasingly intelligent systems.

Wonderful!

But who is investing in the human being working with all that technology?

Who is training the person behind the strategy to perceive more clearly?

To recognise which information matters?

To investigate an inner signal without getting lost in assumptions, expectations or the need to be right?

That’s what the Perceptive Revolution means to me.

Not less technology.

More human mastery alongside it.

And this is why Ray Dalio’s words resonated so strongly.

He’s talking about exceptional human intelligence working in partnership with AI.

I’m connecting that, through my own work, to Perceptive Intelligence.

That connection is my perspective.

And it leaves me wondering...

What if we’re only at the beginning of discovering what exceptional human intelligence can mean?

What if we’ve trained our intellect for years while leaving another natural ability largely undeveloped?

And what if that ability now deserves a much more conscious place in our leadership?

But before we talk about mastery, there’s a question worth asking.

How clearly is your own signal coming through right now?

You may notice a great deal.

You may be highly sensitive.

You may feel that you can read a room the moment you enter it.

But how much of what you notice is being coloured by expectations?

By responsibility?

By familiar patterns or the desire to get things right?

And how often do you dismiss your original impression before you’ve even explored it?

That’s why I created The Signal Audit.

A free personal reflection that invites you to explore how you currently respond to your own signals.

Where does your perception feel clear?

Where might there be noise?

And what do you tend to do with something you notice but can’t yet explain?

It isn’t a test that measures how developed your perception is.

And it isn’t there to tell you what is true.

It’s a starting point for exploring how you perceive, interpret and decide.

Perhaps you’re listening and thinking:

Lisette... I recognise this.

I notice so much. But I’ve never really learned how to work with it consciously.

How to distinguish.

How to refine what I perceive.

And how to bring it into my life, business and leadership.

Then here’s my invitation.

You don’t have to book another training or create an entirely new plan today.

Start by exploring where you are now.

You’ll find the direct link to the free Signal Audit in the episode notes, on LisetteLucas dot NL.

There, you can take the free Signal Audit and explore which aspects of your perception deserve more attention.

From there, you can consider what a meaningful next step might be for you.

Because perhaps your next level doesn’t begin with more knowledge, another strategy or even more information.

Perhaps it begins with reactivating something that has been there all along.

Something you can develop, refine and bring into the way you work.

For yourself.

For the people you lead.

For the clients you support.

And for everyone your work goes on to reach.

So...

How intelligent will AI become?

That is a fascinating question.

But I want to leave you with another one.

How far are you really willing to go to develop your own human intelligence?

Because perhaps that is where your next edge begins.

The next cutting edge is human.

Not less thinking.

More perception.

The mind explains.

Perception reveals.

If you feel what was just activated within you… then you know one thing for certain:

you can’t ignore this anymore.

This is the point where continuing to do what you’ve been doing costs you more than finally choosing what you already know.

Not more strategy. But yourself.

Your leadership. That part of you that has always known what’s true… but you haven’t fully moved on yet.

If you feel this is your moment, then book your Soul Connection Call using the link in the episode notes, on LisetteLucas dot NL.

So you don’t just feel what’s right… but actually start living it.

I’ll see you there.
